Celtel Nigeria empowers dealers, offers business trip to China

In conformity with its broad vision of empowering Nigerians, Celtel Nigeria has revealed plans to further equip and support the business of its trade partners.

The mobile company has perfected plans to take top performing Trade Partners to China where they will learn new tricks in telecom products and service marketing, sales and distribution and customer service delivery.

Also, Celtel has said it will sustain and strengthen the reward scheme for outstanding dealers including the commission earned on the sale of Celtel products and services, as well as support poorly performing trade partners to do well.

Additionally, sales staff will be readily on hand to assist dealers, provide advice and other outlined support service.

According to the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Celtel Nigeria, Bayo Ligali, the plan is indicative of the company’s determination to help its trade partners.

He said “It is important to note that the business interests and profitability of our Trade Partners are of strategic importance to Celtel Nigeria and we are committed to ensuring that the symbiotic relationship, which has existed between them and our organisation continues to grow from strength to strength because it is only when they grow and prosper that our company will achieve its business goals and targets.

“We believe as a business that this will augur well for a prosperous and mutually beneficial business relationship between our company and our Trade Partners. We shall take all necessary steps to give you good reason to remain in business with us by providing you excellent services and above all by building a world class network that will meet all the standards of Quality of Service”.
“Due to the diversity in our portfolio, it is difficult to implement all the very positive suggestions and recommendations that come from our trade partners, but we shall continue to seek new ways of doing business with them. We, however, take all suggestions and recommendations that will grow the company as a whole very seriously and, therefore, encourage our Trade Partners not to relent in making such suggestions.

Celtel’s Commercial Operations Director, Tayo Bright, said about 20 trade partners, will enjoy the all expense paid trip to China.

The outstanding dealers that have been selected for the trip include Hiro-Oje Investment Limited, Alennsar infinity Company Limited, Plus Limited, LYNQ Communication Limited, Stanqueen Investment Limited, Servisys Limited, Royal Serve Wireless Limited, Glovic Nigeria Limited, Seaman Ventures Nigeria Limited, Suleiko Communications Limited, and Sonite Communication Limited.

Recently, Celtel rewarded several of its Distribution Business Partners or Dealers with brand new trucks, buses, motorbikes, home theatre, plasma television sets, Laptops, generators and Laser Printers.

The company’ said the gesture is aimed at gratifying Trade Partners for supporting Celtel in the distribution and sale of its products and services in 2007.

Bank PHB, Akwa Ibom Partners on Workers’ Car Loan

The special adviser to the Akwa Ibom Governor, Mr. Udoh Akpan, has announced the partnership between the state government and Bank PHB with the aim of providing car loans to the state civil servants.

Mr. Akpan said the purpose of the loan is to encourage workers as well as enhance productivity in the state.

He added that the N2 million loan will enable a worker own a car and pay back within 6 years and at the rate of 10%.

Akpan disclosed this at a seminar organised by the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), Akwa Ibom Council, to further train its members.

Dunlop Nigeria Showcases Supersteel at Kaduna Fair

The giant tyre manufacturter in Nigeria, Dunlop Nigeria Plc, has taken its latest product, Supersteel Truck Tyre, to the on-going 29th edition of Kaduna International Trade Fair.

As a result of its durability and offer of low cost per kilometer for transporters, haulage companies and truck tyre transporters have continued to troop to Dunlop’s village at the fair ground for purchase and enquires.

At the opening ceremony of the fair, Mr. Mohammed Yinusa, Group Managing Director, Dunlop, said gifts would be given to anyone who purchases its products at the fair.

MTN Nigeria Organizes MTNF 0703 Toll Free Counseling

As part of its social responsibility project, the Board of Directors of MTN Foundation recently approved and deployed some toll free counseling lines in support of the bereaved members of the society in June last year.

An initiative of Aart of life Foundation (partner of the Health portfolio, MTNF), the “0703-Healing Project” is dedicated to providing grief counseling and moral support to members of the society.

It aims at improving social support and acceptance for grieving women in the society and giving them the voice through advocacy and public enlightenment. The focus is to reduce some negative cultural perceptions suppressing bereaved people in Nigeria.

The advantage of setting up a project that is anchored by the GSM service provider is the ability to reach grieving people in distance communities.

MTNF C.A.R.E.S Project and MTN Kiddies Xmas Party

MTN Helps children in Nigeria The MTNF Children at Risk Empowerment Scheme (MTNF C.A.R.E.S) is in partnership with MTN Foundation and 2 Non Governmental Organisations (NGO), Hope World Wide Nigeria (HWWN) and Sponsor A Child (SOC) as well as other relevant governmental agencies in targeted communities.

The focus for this is to provide care and support for orphans and Vulnerable Child (OVCs) within the age bracket of 0-16 years in 4 states across the country namely; Lagos, Kogi, Plateau and Cross River States.

The MTNF C.A.R.E.S project seeks to address education, health care psychosocial needs for 250 orphans for the 1st year of the project within the aim of increasing their wellbeing and social development in due course.

A Xmas party was organized in the children’s honour in Lagos and Kogi States, with the aim of spreading the joy and cheer of the season to them.

MTN Nigeria Empowers 50 Lady Mechanics

MTN supports women in Nigeria 50 young ladies have completed the 1st year of a 3 year training technical training sponsored by the MTN Foundation to become auto-mechanics.

This MTN Foundation is an investment in the girl child. It is designed to create financial independence for young ladies in the society who are disadvantaged or vulnerable. This initiative helps place ‘graduates’ in reputable auto care garages nationwide.

Projects such as this are MTN Foundation’s demonstration of its commitment towards making a difference in our society as well as contributing towards the national socio-economic development.

MTN Nigeria Completes Housing Project in Nasarawa

The completion of the 100 MTNF-Habitat for Humanity Housing project in Karu, Nasarawa has whipped a whirlwind of excitement both in the beneficiaries as well as in MTN staff.

A completion, Streetwise was organized for MTN staff to decide on names for streets within the estate.

Several winners emerged from this competition and the streets have been appropriately named.
