Zain, Celtel parent company, Introduces Roaming Service on Aircrafts

Zain Group, a global telecom company, that operates in Nigeria and in several other African countries as Celtel has announced in Jordan the successful rollout of its mobile roaming service on aircrafts.
The new technology, installed by AeroMobile, was successfully tried by Zain customers, during the world’s first commercial flight to take place with the new innovative technology. The voyage took place recently between Dubai and Casablanca on Emirates Airlines. Read more

Afribank Nigeria Plc has commenced the sale of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates nation-wide. Registration for the Examination will be done on-line through the Scratch cards

Nigeria: Bank PHB Set to Launch Islamic Account

In addition to the series of accounts that were launched recently in order to meet the demands of its customers, Bank PHB, a major bank in Nigeria, is set to launch a new account that will enable faithful Muslims fulfill their Hajj without stress.
The account will contain current account, savings investment, Hajj Target savings products and has no banking interest. The account can be maintained by age qualified person irrespective of gender or income status. It also welcomes Muslim women in purdah.
Charles Odibo, Head Corporate Communications of the bank, said the need to respond to the demands of customers earned the new product.

In order to appreciate the activities and loyalty of the bank’s staff, as well as encourage them, Spring Bank Plc, recently rewarded 535 of its staffs with different promotion packages.
In the details of the promotion, it was unveiled that 261 Management Trainees were promoted to be Assistant Banking Officers, 99 Assistant Banking Officers to become Banking Officers,82 Banking Officers to the post of Senior Banking Officers, 47 Senior Banking Officers to Assistant Managers, 34 Assistant Managers to Deputy Managers and 12 Deputy Managers to Managers.
Dr. Suleyman Ndanusa, OON, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, while congratulating the beneficiaries, said the staffs deserved the promotion due to their commitment and patience which has earned the bank a better performance.
He also advised them never to relent but work as a team in order to enable the bank actualize its dream of becoming one of the leading banks in the world.
