A new Director, Mrs Uche Ohimai-Ehimiaghe has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of Associated Bus Company Plc, operators of ABC Transport at the just concluded 15th Annual General Meeting of the company which took place on August 21, 2008.
Mrs Uche Ohimai-Ehimiaghe represents Leoandoe Investments which has a substantial interest in the company.

Shareholders of Associated Bus Company Plc operators of ABC Transport on Thursday, August 21st unanimously approved the proposal by the board of directors to disburse a dividend of N120 million to shareholders for the last financial year, at the 15th Annual General Meeting held in Redemption Hall, Concorde Hotel, Owerri.
Rising from the meeting, the shareholders pledged their continued loyalty and support for the Company’s long term objectives whilst reiterating their confidence in the ability of the company’s management towards driving the 15 year old institution to its goal of being the best quality transport company in the Nigerian Transport sector.

Ecobank Offers $2.5bn Shares Across Nigeria, Ghana and Abidjan

The $2.5 billion hybrid offer of Ecobank Transnational Incorporation (ETI) which opened on Monday, has been described as the first largest and simultaneous cross border public offering in Africa as it is listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Abidjan’s Bourse Regional Des Valeurs Mobilieres and the Ghana Stock Exchange.
The public offering is at the rate of $.0.29 per share for the 5,116,499,328 shares for the public and a discount of 12.5% while the right issue goes for $0.27 per share for 3,763,759,981 shares at a discount of 20% and a ratio of 5 new shares for every 9 held by investors as at August 18, 2008.

In other to improve the petty businesses of the women of Wase in Plateau state, Wase Microfinance Bank has disbursed a loan of N4 million to over 65 women groups in the state.
Alhaji Ali Sa’eed, chairman of the bank said the beneficiaries of the loan where mobilised through the local government council, village districts and ward heads in order to enable them expand their businesses.
