The removal of Professor Maurice Iwu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission cannot guarantee free and fair election in Nigeria, former head of state and two time presidential candidate Mohammadu Buhari has said.
Buhari made the comment yesterday in Abuja during the launching of a book titled ‘Police, Security and Democratic Governance in Nigeria’ by the Association of the Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (ARPON). He said: “The removal of Iwu as Chairman of INEC is the first step toward ensuring credible election; next is total reorganisation of the INEC as a whole.”
