Nigerian music rave of the moment, D’banj couldn’t have chosen a more unusual way to celebrate his 29th birthday, Tuesday June 9, 2009. Unlike most Nigerians, especially superstars who throw huge parties for their friends and families, Koko crooner chose to spend the entire day in the company of the less privileged.
Sporting a designer gray suit and oxblood shirt, the star whose real names is Dapo Oyebanjo, spent a good part of the day visiting the Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice, an orphanage located in Surulere for abandoned children born with life-threatening and terminal ailments and disabilities like down syndrome, polio, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and hydrocephalus, among many others. Theatre@Terra presents the 3rd ANNUAL SEASON OF WOLE SOYINKA
The Season of stage plays celebrating Professor Wole Soyinka, the Nobel Peace Prize winner was birthed by the Lawyer/Playwright and Theatre Producer, Wole Oguntokun and first took place in July 2007. Collaborating with the British Council and the arts and cultural centre known as Terra Kulture, Oguntokun’s Jasonvision brought four plays written by Soyinka and one by Oguntokun himself.
