La Casera Leads Beauty Contestants on Courtesy Visit to Oba of Benin

As the race heats up for the highly coveted beauty contest, Miss La Casera 2012 in the ancient city of Benin, foremost producer of apple flavor carbonated soft drink, The La Casera Company Limited has led a bevy of beauty contestants on a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa in Benin City.

The courtesy visit to the royal father of the Benin Kingdom came hard on the heels of the coronation of the 2012 Miss La Casera which is billed to hold on May 5, 2012 at the prestigious Best Western Homeville Hotel in Benin City.

Speaking on behalf of the management of The La Casera Company, Mr. Sunil Pal Singh, Regional Sales Manager, Benin Zone eulogized the Oba and thanked his Palace Chiefs for granting audience to the La Casera delegation. Singh explained that his team deemed it necessary to express reverence to the Oba and seek his royal blessing for the success of the beauty contest which is holding on the soil of the Benin Kingdom. He said that when the Miss La Casera 2012 is crowned, she will represent the company in driving most of its corporate philanthropic activities such as donation to orphanages and other community initiatives.

“Oba gha tokpeye! We bring you greetings from our Chairman and management of The La Casera Company. We are here to express our reverence to your majesty and seek your blessing for our mission here in Benin City. With me are the beauty contestants and among them, one will emerge the winner of the crown for Miss La Casera 2012. She will represent the company as a Brand Ambassador to reach out to the needy in the society and take care of certain community initiatives consistent with the company’s corporate philosophy.”

In closing, Sunil presented gifts which include products to the Oba. “In appreciation of your leadership, we have brought gifts for you. You have been there for us and you will continue to be there for us. Please accept these gifts as a token of our appreciation.”

In reaction, the royal father through one of his Palace Chiefs prayed for the delegation and assigned four of his Palace Chiefs to be present at the coronation event.

During an interview with the press, Sunil emphasized that the 2012 Miss La Casera will be the sixth edition and in the spirit of the tenth anniversary of the company, the 2012 Miss La Casera will be awarded fabulous prizes. “In addition, a substantial budget has been set aside to adequately equip her in carrying out activities during her reign as Miss La Casera.” He stressed.

He said that the delegation had earlier made a stop-over at the Edo Orphanage to make financial and material donation to the orphanage. “We had been to the Edo Orphanage to give some financial and material support and this is just like a preview of the bigger picture of our corporate philanthropy initiative following the coronation of Miss La Casera.”

Miss La Casera is a result of a partnership between Silverbird Group and The La Casera Company Limited on the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant. It is the title given to the contestant that exudes the qualities of a modern Nigerian woman being the perfect balance Company.

Airtel Honours 2face at Album Launch

Leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria, Monday night led a host of friends, associates and music lovers to the fifth album launch of Nigeria’s top-ranking artiste, 2face Idibia who also doubles as the brand ambassador to the telecommunications giant.

Indeed, it was an unusual night marked by wholesome excitement, creativity, fun, star performances and inspirational entertainment at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, venue of this year’s edition of Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless Concert and fifth album launch of Nigeria’s leading R ‘n’ B singer, 2face Innocent Idibia.

The event, which started with a red carpet, was a big hit throughout the over four hours it lasted. The night was filled with fun and excitement as Airtel Nigeria provided guests with exciting platforms to experience the exciting features on its foremost value offerings for the Nigerian youth, Club 10 Hook.

Speaking on Airtel’s partnership with 2face on the concert, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, Airtel Nigeria, Deepak Srivastava expressed delight at the company’s support for its brand ambassador and one of the greatest artistes from Africa.

TW Celebrates Anniversary With The Pheonix Gala.

The popular lifestyle magazine TW celebrated her fourth year anniversary with an awards ceremony tagged The Phoenix Gala Night. The event was held at the Incubator events centre at Lekki and was attended by friends, family, events planners, faithful subscribers and a host of other personalities. While celebrating their fourth anniversary, they also used the opportunity to recognize and celebrate matriarchs and protégées; women who have touched their environment with their works. Awards were given out to these outstanding women with top notch event planner, Ndidi Obioha of Enthyst events, kicking off the awards reception team. Other women who received awards that night were Tosin Otitoju, Chisty Essien Igbokwe (Late0, Asa, Uche Eze, Uche Eze of Bella Naija, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi and a host of others. The Editor in chief, Adesuwa Oyenekwe gave a speech, recognizing the women who have shaped their communities and also acknowledged the people whose hard work brought the event to its fulfilment.

The nights programme of events started off with the nation anthem taken by ‘Oh Baby’ crooner Jodie, after which she proceeded to perform the hit song. Other side attractions for the night included performances by Tiwa Savage, Weird MC, and Omawunmi and also fashion shows by Models dressed in Vlisco Ankara. The entire affair was hosted by Ireti Doyle and Ifeoma Williams.
