Less than two months after the gruesome murder of four undergraduates of the University of Port-Harcourt by an irate mob in Aluu community, reports have emerged that a movie is set to be made based on the incident.
The Aluu 4 movie which will reportedly be produced by Simony Productions is already generating some measure of displeasure due to the sensitive nature of the incident and the notoriety of Nollywood producers to capitalise on topical issues often at the expense of well-produced and adequately-researched movies.
The question then is to what end does making a movie on the gruesome murder of the Aluu 4 serve? Has adequate research been conducted to present a well-balanced, detailed account of what really happened that fateful day?
