Afribank Staff Charity Donates N.250m to Kidney Patient

Afribank Staff Charity Fund has responded to the save-a-soul appeal for the little Miss Ifeoluwa Adeyemi, the seven-year-old girl receiving treatment for kidney related problem at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos. The Staff Charity Fund presented cheque valued =N=.250Million to Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi, father of Ifeoluwa at the Hospital yesterday.

Mr. Adebiyi Adegbite, the Chairman of Afribank Staff Charity Fund while presenting the Cheque on behalf of the Charity Fund, stated that Afribank Staff were moved to assist in the treatment of Miss Ifeoluwa because of their passion to make impact in the lives of the needy and the less privileged in the Society

Mr. Adebiyi noted that the Charity Fund was primarily initiated to show compassion to people facing challenges of life and require the support of people to live normal life. “We believe that we could give little out of what we have to put smiles on the faces of some other people”, he said.

In his response, Mr. Adeyemi, expressed great appreciation for the compassion exhibited by Afribank Staff by identifying with his family in the time of distress. He said “it is indeed a big relief as the cost of the regular dialysis is biting hard into our finances”. The staff St.Nicholas Hospital were also full of praises for the kind gesture of the Staff of Afribank describing the initiative as novel.

Since its initiation, the Fund has affected the lives of a number of less privileged through generous donations and gifts across the country. It is part of its mission to impact and contribute to the community where it operates through strategic partnerships, which is also part of the corporate social responsibility project of the Bank.
