CIBN President happy with Afribank’s postive outlook

Afribank Nigeria LogoThe President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Mrs. Juliet Madubueze, has praised the Management of Afribank for the successful turn around of its operations and its present positive outlook.

Mrs. Madubueze, who led the Governing Council of CIBN to Afribank Management yesterday to formally present the New CIBN Enabling Act, explained that Afribank has succeeded in managing the challenges of the post-consolidation into opportunities for greater returns.

“By every standard, Afribank has done well in the perception of the public and this has boosted its market acceptance and confidence. We are very pleased with the good works the Management is doing here and we are sure you will continue to uphold the standard”, the President noted.

She also explained that Afribank has proven to be a corporately responsible institution by being professional in its operations and supportive of the CIBN activities.

The CIBN President said that as a leading financial institution in Nigeria, the Institute’s Management came to Afribank to present the Act and dialogue with a view to making the adoption and implementation of the new Act by key stakeholders easy.

Mrs. Madubueze explained that CIBN, as a self regulatory institution, has succeeded in working with relevant organizations to uplift the standard and perception of the banking industry in Nigeria. She added that the Institute has represented the industry at different fora, organized seminars and made inputs into government policies on behalf of the industry.

Mr. Sebastian Adigwe, Group Managing Director of Afribank, thanked the CIBN for the good work it is doing and making it to be a vibrant platform for the industry.

He assured that Afribank would continue to be supportive of CIBN and complement its activities towards building an internationally recognized banking industry in Nigeria.

The Group Managing Director assured that the Bank would sustain its growth and performance profile to the admiration of stakeholders.
