Energy Insurance trains in Oli and Gas Insurance

The international training programme in energy insurance aimed at building local capacity of Nigerian insurance operators began in Lagos.

The ground-breaking specialised energy insurance training organised by Brickred Consult Limited, opened to an impressive start with more than 50 participants at the Federal Palace Hotel conference room.

Issues such as the oil and gas value chain, overview of the Nigerian energy sector, and oil and gas drilling operations, among others were discussed.

Participants were also introduced to the workings of major international energy insurance markets such as Lloyd’s of London, the Scandinavian markets, among others.

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brickred Consult, the organisers of the training programme, Mr. Dan Okehi, said that the aim of the training is to build local capacity in energy insurance underwriting. Okehi further said that the goal is “the domiciliation in Nigeria of energy insurance capacity through collaboration and partnership with international experts in the field.”

The programme was declared open by the Director-General of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, CIIN, Mr. Adegbeba, on behalf of the president of the institute.
