According to Saturday Punch newspaper, former Head of State, Maj-Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), may drop his presidential ambition in the 2015 general elections ahead of the ongoing merger negotiations between the Congress for Progressive Change and the Action Congress of Nigeria. An influential member of the party who spoke to the newspaper said that both national leader of the ACN, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and former CPC Presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari might make personal sacrifice and drop their ambitions in 2015.
