2015 Elections: Presidential Ticket Tears Buhari, Tinubu Apart

According to Nigerian Tribune newspaper, the insistence of former presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) on retaining the presidential ticket of the proposed merger party has created a drift in the camps of the former Head of State, and that of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria.  Inside sources familiar with the merger talks told the newspaper that the  talks was suspended for two weeks, with Senator Bola Tinubu reported to have told Buhari and his team that all positions including the presidential ticket are open in the new merger talks. It was further revealed that both the CPC and one of the major parties in the proposed merger talks, the All Nigeria Peoples Congress, are jostling for the presidential ticket of the yet to be formed party.
