According to the Nigerian Tribune newspaper, the Nigerian Labour Congress, Thursday, expressed sadness at the state pardon granted former governor of Bayelsa State, Mr Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and former Managing Director of the Bank of the North, Mr Shetima Bulama. The congress in a statement signed by its national President, Comrade Abdulwahed Omar, and obtained by the newspaper, said that it was totally unacceptable that those who committed economic crimes in such magnitude that affected public interest were granted state pardon. Omar then called on the Federal Government to withdraw the state pardon in national interest.
