Senator Aliyu Ndume is presently contesting against the decision of an Abuja Federal High Court to admit to the evidence tendered against him, following his trial by the Federal Government for allegedly sponsoring the terror sect, Boko Haram. He made his appeal by approaching a Court of Appeal in the FCT.
The evidence include materials such as mobile phone handsets belonging to a former spokesman of the sect, Ali Konduga, aka Al Zawahiri and Ndume himself; Al Zawahiri was the person who pointed Ndume as the sponsor of the group. There are also DVDs containing recordings of communication between both men.
