Investigations by The Citizen newspaper has revealed that the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mrs. Rose Uzoma, was removed from her post because of alleged favoritism in recruitment. Uzoma who was on Tuesday was asked to proceed on terminal leave by President Goodluck Jonathan, was said to have used her position to influence the recruitment of her kinsmen from the South East into the Service. She was also alleged to have offered hundreds of job slots to top government functionaries, including the Presidency which was offered 250 slots; Jonathan’s mother 40 slots; First Lady 100 slots; Interior Minister Abba Moro 100 slots; two commissioners of the Immigration board 30 slots each, and the Federal Character Commission 250 slots.
