Less than a year after the fatal Dana crash in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) , Vanguard newspaper reports that armed robbers have turned the crash site into a den. According to reports, although the state government has barricaded the site, rubble from the destroyed structures have not been removed and weeds have overgrown the once upon a residential area, making it an easy hideout site for robbers. Reports further state that the bad state of the roads which hinders vehicular movement further contributes to the perpetuation of crime. Several residents of the area bemoaned the negligence of the government, stating that they live in fear of the robbers and are not able to leave their homes before 6am. Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ben Akabueze had, during the 2013 budget analysis, said the government would within the year rehabilitate the network of roads linking the site of the Dana Plane Crash. It would be recalled that the fatal Dana crash occurred on the 3rd of June, 2012 killing all 153 passengers on board.
