The National Chairman, National Conscience Party (NCP), Dr Yunisa Tanko, has told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be charged for contempt of court for de-registering 28 political parties. Tanko said that INEC has no reason to de-registered the parties as there is an on going court case in a Lagos High Court between INEC and other de-registered political parties. Tanko added that the de-registration of the parties was an infringement of the fundamental human rights of citizens and against the laws of Nigeria.
