To commemorate the Christian holiday Christmas and Boxing Day which falls on December 25 and 26 respectively, the Federal Government has declared both days as public holidays. In the same vein, January 1st which marks the beginning of a new year has also been declared to be a public holiday. The announcement was made in Abuja by the Interior Minister, Abba Moro.
