The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has disclosed that he receives N25,000 per night for official trips embarked on within the country. Sanusi made this known in response to a request by Lagos Lawyer, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, concerning recurrent expenditures on the CBN governor and his office following Sanusi’s comments in December calling for the reduction of the nation’s workforce by 50 per cent. He further revealed that he fuels his personal cars with personal funds and does not charge the CBN or the Federal Government any fee outside his remuneration. Reacting to Sanusi’s response, Aturu said while he was not completely satisfied with the response, he would commend Sanusi for answering the questions and not behaving like most public officials who would ignore the request altogether.
