The Nigerian Police Force have assured Nigerian of heightened security  watch all over the nation during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The IG of Police, Muhammed Abubakar said that during this period, more police men will be deployed to parts of the country  that would require more security. According to the Police IG, “We are determined to reduce the crime rate and criminality to the barest minimum . He also added that states that would be receiving special attention will be Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Kano.

The IG of police said this in a meeting with the members of the Police Mobile Force (PMF). He said he would very much like for the PMF to be restored to its former glory.
