Mr. Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, told the Punch Newspaper that the body is prepared to thwart the efforts of prospective riggers towards the forth coming 2015 elections with a clean voters registration system.
The commission is also making efforts to combat multiple voting and other voting felonies with new technical means that will benefit everyone. Mr Idowu stated, “We are going to have a register that is near-perfect. The argument during the 2011 elections was that because of time constraint, we couldn’t get a good register. “This time, it will be a different matter. We have been cleaning it up (voter register) and consolidating the data up to the national level, capturing the 36 states.”
