Professor Adesida Ilesanmi, First Black Vice Chancellor of University of Illinois

Nigerian-born Professor Ilesanmi Adesida has made history, August, by becoming the first black Vice-Chancellor of the University of Illinois. The Citizen newspaper reported that Prof. Adesida, an engineer from Ondo State, whose outstanding work in the field of Nanotechnology has received much acclaim in the scientific community, became the first black Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the  University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in the United States.
