Following the environmental degradation caused by oil spillage in Ogoniland, the Senate, Thursday, summoned the management of Shell Nigeria over immediate steps to remediate the oil spill affected areas of Ejema Ebubu and Bomu Manifold communities before the end of 2013. The Committee on Independence Day 2012, paid an unscheduled visit to several sites affected by the oil spill as part of its oversight visit.
