Okonjo-Iweala’s Mother’s Kidnap: Suspect Arraigned in Court

Andrew Dime, a 32-year old member of the 10-man kidnap gang that allegedly abducted 82-year-old Prof. Kamene Okonjo, mother of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been arraigned before an Asaba Chief Magistrate Court on a four-count charge. The accused claimed to have been in charge of feeding the Finance minister’s mother with bread and groundnuts while she was in captivity. The Enikorogha, Edo state indigene is the second suspect to be arraigned in connection with Okonjo-Iweala’s mother’s Kidnap  as a William Omenma, 30, had earlier been arraigned. Dime has meanwhile been remanded at Ogwashi-Uku prisons while the hearing of the case has been adjourned till February 28, 2013.
