Opposition Party, Action Congress Of Nigeria (ACN) has accused the Presidency of being power drunk. They say that the presidency is suffering from insensitivity and has grown blind to the plight of the Nigerian people. This tirade was brought on by the President’s comment that the  January fuel strike was brought on and sponsored by the opposition. The party reacted through its national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, wondered how the president, who lives at the expense of tax-paying Nigerian could ‘insult the sensibility of suffering Nigerians on their right to protest an unjust fuel hike’.

They described the President as being out of touch with the people, stating that the people involved in the protests included lawyers, doctors, bankers, teachers, cleaners and everyday people from all walks of life.  He added that Nigerians should not submit to bullying by a lazy government who is comfortable with blaming its laziness and incompetence on a struggling people.
