AC welcomes Mark to reality – The Nation

November 23, 2009 by Bunmi Awolusi

The Action Congress (AC) is delighted that Senate President David Mark has finally seen the light by blaming his party, the PDP, for the lingering face-off between the two chambers of the National Assembly, which has truncated the President’s 2010 budget presentation.

In a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said Mark had finally seen what other Nigerians have been saying – “that the PDP is the problem with Nigeria!”

“The only problem here is that Senator Mark is being clever by half by blaming the PDP leadership. After all, he is a distinguished member of that leadership,” it said.

AC said the only reason that the Senate President had turned against his own party now is that things have not gone his way, adding that the belated realisation that the PDP is the source of the instability in the system cannot exonerate him from the collective responsibility which the PDP leadership bears for Nigeria’s stunted democracy and the people’s failed hopes.

PDP can not steer the affairs of Nigera towards the developmental goal of the country. The composition of the party is so much of self-centered individuals who only sees wrong when things do not favour them. David Mark has suddenly agreed that the problem of the country is caused by PDP leadership just as the tussle on the ground does not sway easily to his side.
