Another outbreak of cholera was reported again, on Tuesday, in Maiduguri, Borno State, claiming more than 70 lives, while another three people were confirmed dead in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
A medical official disclosed the outbreak and deaths on condition of anonymity to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the Bulabulin Cholera Camp, about two kilometres away from the state capital.
He alleged that medical officers posted to the camp had refused to attend to patients, because their allowances were not paid.
He said, “besides that, the camp lacks drugs, beds and security as relatives and friends have continued to troop in to spread the infection.
