Bode George, others appeal verdict – The Guardian

Jailed former National Deputy Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George and five others along with him yesterday filed a notice of appeal against their sentence by a Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Olubunmi Oyewole.
George, who was also a former Chairman of Board of Directors of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) was jailed on Monday along with Messrs Aminu Dabo, Olusegun Abidoye, Abdulahi Tafida, Zanna Maidaribe and Sule Aliyu, all who were former members of the board during George’s tenure.
The convicts represented by their counsel led by Mr. Tunji Ayanlaja (SAN) while filing the notice of appeal at the Registry of the Lagos High Court, Ikeja, also sought a temporary bail for the convicts pending the determination of their appeal.
