The convicted former chairman of the Board of Directors of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) Chief Olabode George and five others will today know whether or not they would spend the Christmas and New Year holidays with their families or not.
This is because the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal will today deliver judgment on their bail application pending the appeal which is before a panel of three justices of the Court of Appeal- Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, Paul Adamu Calinje and Hussein Mukhtar. Ahead of the judgment day, hearing notices had already been sent to all the parties in the case.
Chief Olabode George, and the president’s director of campaign at the last presidential elections, Arch. Aminu Dabo, former MD, NPA, Captain Olusegun Abidoye, Alhaji Abdullahi Aminu Tafida, Alhaji Zanna Maidaribe and Alhaji Sule Aliyu are currently serving jail terms at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos.
They were on October 26, found guilty of some of the charges levelled against them by the EFCC over offences committed while serving on the board of the Nigeria Ports Authority, and sentenced by the court.
