November 20, 2009 by Bunmi Awolusi
The Court of Appeal, sitting in Lagos, yesterday fixed hearing in the post-conviction bail motion brought by the jailed former Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) Chairman Bode George for December 1.
George’s motion will be taken along with those filed by his fellow convicts-Aminu Dabo, Olatunji Adeboye, Abdullahi Tafida, Zanna Maideribe and Sule Aliyu.
Their lawyers had argued for a consolidation of the motions since they are similar.
The three-member panel headed by Justice Monica Dongban Mensena, agreed with them, saying: “If we had seen all the applications, we would have heard all of them. There is nothing special about George’s application.”
Other members of the panel are Justice Paul Adamu Galinje Justice Hussein Muktar.
