EFCC arrests banker who stole N12.5m to fund his wedding – The Nation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is holding an official of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Mr. Olajide Ogundipe, for allegedly defrauding the bank of about N12.5million.
The commission said it had been able to recover N9million from the suspect.
A statement by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Femi Babafemi, said the bank had reported the fraud following abuse of the ATM system of the FCMB by the suspect.
The statement said: “The bank had on September 4, 2009, petitioned the EFCC, alleging fraudulent withdrawal of money from the bank’s ATM in excess of N12million by a member of the staff.
