EFFORTS to repatriate former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nasir el-Rufai are gathering momentum.
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Mrs. Farida Waziri has requested for el-Rufai’s extradition to face trial in Nigeria.
The EFCC chairman has written Attorney-General of the Federation Mr. Mike Aondoakaa (SAN), asking him to invoke the relevant clauses of the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) between Nigeria and Britain to bring el-Rufai to justice. The letter, learnt The Nation, was written last Friday.
