FEC reviews ministries, discovers poor budget execution – The Guardian

The low level of budget execution by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) came to the fore yesterday as the Ministries of Agriculture and Water Resources, Niger Delta, Transport, Finance and National Planning presented progress reports on their implementation of the current year to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan.
President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua is on a three-day state visit to Brazil.
Also, it has emerged that the problem of insecurity in the Niger Delta is affecting the execution of projects not only in the Ministry of Niger Delta but also in the dredging of the River Niger by the Ministry of Transport.
