Govt plans bill, public launch of Vision 20:2020 – The Guardian

October 28, 2009 by Bunmi Awolusi

The Federal Government yesterday in Lagos acknowledged public apathy to the Vision 20-2020 economic agenda, describing it as the single greatest challenge to its success.

Minister of National Planning, Shamsudeen Usman, who decried the apathy, stressed, however, that of all national economic blueprints before it, Vision 20-2020 contained far-reaching prescriptions that would reposition Nigeria in line with the set target.

Indeed, a bill, Usman disclosed, would soon be presented to the National Assembly to legalise the economic blueprint, so that it becomes binding on the present administration and succeeding ones.

And a public launch of the document, he added, would be done before the end of the year.
