Govt to confront private jet owners over breaches – The Guardian

A move may have been initiated by aviation sector regulators to check the rising cases of security and employment policy breaches by private jet owners in Nigeria.
The jet owners before now, in connivance with their agents and some officials of the regulatory agencies, prepare flight plans for their clients; obtain clearance from the control tower before flying out of the hangars, without allowing screening or search of the contents of the airplanes. Some of them even allegedly defy the orders of airport officials.
The owners and agents by their action circumvent aviation rules and by implication jeopardise national security and safety in the process.
However, the blame has been put not only on the aviation authorities but also on the doorsteps of private owners’ agents, who have been accused of flouting safety and security rules on their operations.
