Jang to Yar’adua: Forgive me – Daily Trust

After nearly a year of confrontation with the Federal Government as well as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national leadership, Plateau State governor Jonah David Jang has asked President Umaru Yar’adua for forgiveness, Daily Trust learnt at the weekend.
A top party official said Governor Jang met with President Yar’adua at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday last week, where he pleaded with the President to forgive him and intervene in the crisis between him and the PDP’s National Working Committee.
But a source close to the governor said the meeting was at the instance of President Yar’adua, who believed “Governor Jang will be useful to his second term project.” He said the president actually had some “harsh words for the NWC about their handling of the Plateau PDP crisis.”
