Journalists in the zone C Area of Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), comprising of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, have threatened to embark on hunger strike to protest the bad conditions of federal roads in the zone.
They regretted that the failed roads had claimed many lives and property worth billions of naira.
The journalists said they would embark on hunger strike if the Federal Government fails to commence repair work on the “complete dilapidated federal roads in South East”.
Rising from a meeting held in Umuahia, Abia State, they called on the National Assembly “to put pressure on the government to commence massive reconstruction work on the roads without delay”.
