Judgment today in NPA contract scam – The Nation

A year and two months after former chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Chief Olabode George and five others were arraigned on charges of contracts inflation and duplication, judgment is set to be delivered today.

An official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Wilson Uwujarem, said Mr. Justice Joseph Oyewole of a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, informed the commission’s legal unit of the date.

Those who stood trial alongside George were the Chief Executive of NPA, Mr. Aminu Dabo,Capt. O Adeboye, Abdullahi Tafida, Zanna Maidaribe and Sule Aliyu.

Mr. Justice Oyewole adjourned sine die following the adoption of written addresses of parties at the conclusion of trial.

George was the last witness to testify. He was the only witness for the defence.
