Kudirat: Court rejects documents to nail Al-Mustapha – Vanguard
November 20, 2009 by Bunmi Awolusi
The ongoing trial of former chief security office to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha and two others, accused of killing Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, wife of the late politician, Chief M.K.O. Abiola, suffered a set-back yesterday.
The judge, Justice Mojisola Dada rejected the judgment of a high court tendered by the state.
The prosecution has sought to tender a judgment of Justice Williams of a Lagos High Court which tried and sentenced Alhaji Lateef Sofolahan, one of the accused persons, to show that he was once an aide to Alhaja Abiola, where he allegedly conspired with others to kill her.
This was sequel to the disagreements between the prosecution and the defence team over Sofolahan’s confessional statement, resulting to the Trial Within Trial (TWT) before Justice Dada.
