New salary for polytechnic workers – The Nation

The Federal Government has approved a new salary structure for polytechnics workers.
The Consolidated Tertiary Institution Salary Structure (CONTISS) has pushed up the salary of academic workers by 40 per cent and non-academic workers by 20 per cent.
The regulatory agency for the polytechnics, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), has issued a circular to rectors on the implementation of the new pay package.
The circular, entitled “Transitional Modalities for the Implementation of CONTISS 15 in Federal Polytechnics, reads in part: Your attention is drawn to the need for speedy and strict implementation as per the guidelines attached. The effective date is 1st January 2009.”
It was signed by the NBTE’s Director of Finance and Supplies, Mr. Isa A. Sulaimanu.
