NLC spoils for war over deregulation – The Nation

Organised labour is poised to frustrate the Federal Government’s efforts to deregulate the downstream oil sector, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) president Abdulwaheed Omar has said.
Omar, who spoke with reporters at the final burial of Prince Samuel Kayode, the late father of the Minister for Labour and Productivity, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN) at Ikaram Akoko, Ondo State, said the union would embark on an indefinite strike to kick against the policy.
He said the policy was against the downtrodden.
According to him, “For now, we are expecting the federal government to announce that the proposed deregulation has been cancelled. However, if government continues with the planned deregulation, we will call out our members and we will take up necessary steps to frustrate the exercise”.
