The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said that it has already commenced with its new retail plan to partner with independent and private filling station owners within the country where it will take over the stations in order to sustain steady fuel supply.
Speaking to Daily Trust on phone, its spokesman Dr. Levi Ajuonuma said NNPC has commenced a pilot stage of the retail plan in about 10 to 15 states of the federation.
He said, “So far, we have started it in what we can call pilot stage. In another week or two, they have promised to take us round to some states to look at what has happened. For example in Kano, they have identified some stations and are in contact with the owners. Some of them have released their lease and are in the process of rebranding them to NNPC colours.”
