Sanusi to elite: North not to blame for Nigeria’s woes – The Nation
November 20, 2009 by Bunmi Awolusi
Critics of the Nigerian situation were advised yesterday to focus on issues instead of ethnicism.
Northern domination and the role of the British in building the foundation of the perceived hegemony formed part of the pillars of discourse at a book launch in Lagos yesterday.
Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who stressed that he was no defender of the North, advised that discussions on the National Question should focus on “education, power, health, not about Fulani”.
It was all at the presentation of a book written by frontline lawyer Sir Olaniwun Ajayi, Nigeria: Africa’s failed asset. Venue: Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
