Former Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday led a delegation of the Coalition of Democrats for Electoral Reforms (CODER) to educate the leadership of the House of Representatives on the imperative of genuine electoral reforms.
Tinubu told Speaker Dimeji Bankole that only credible and genuine election would guarantee the stability of the country.
He reiterated his call for the adoption of open-secret ballot system.
The former Governor said the core objective of CODER was to ensure electoral transparency.
His words: “We have come to appeal to the conscience of the House to hold the stability and economic development of the country uppermost. This country is blessed with abundant human and natural resources that remained untapped. What is lacking is leadership and if the leadership is alive to its responsibilities, stability will be assured.
