Utuama advocates death penalty for kidnappers – Vanguard

Death penalty is the solution to the menace of kidnapping, Delta Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, has said.
He called on the Federal Government to prescribe death penalty for persons caught in the nefarious act of kidnapping, noting that the issue had become worrisome and that unless such step was taken to stamp it out, it might get out of hand.
Receiving the Chairman of the Police Service Commis-sion (PSC), Mr. Parry Osayande, on behalf of the state governor at Government House, Asaba, yesterday, Utuama said the state governor would assent to the passage of a bill prescribing death sentence for such offence in the state.
