Yar’adua to MPs: You are immature – Daily Trust

November 20, 2009 by Bunmi Awolusi

The immature manner in which the Senate and the House of Representatives allowed their power tussle to thwart yesterday’s scheduled presentation of the 2010 budget estimates to a joint session of the National Assembly was personally disappointing to President Umaru Yar’adua, his Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters Senator Mohammed Abba Aji said in Abuja yesterday. He said the President was not happy with the squabble which threatens the smooth running of government business.

President Yar’adua was scheduled to present next year’s budget to a joint session of the two chambers, but a surprisingly intense squabble over the venue between the two chambers scuttled the plan. Both chambers simultaneously laid out the red carpet yesterday in anticipation of the President’s coming, but Yar’adua stayed away from the conflict zone.
