A new logo proclaiming the spirit of hand work and the sunny nature of the state was unveiled at the weekend.

The colouful event was held at the Cultural Centre, Adegbemile, Akure, the state capital.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Olusegun Mimiko said the name “Ondo State”, laced with a sun-like design, was spelt out in bold orange colour, which, he said, stands for vibrancy, brightness, and progress.

The governor said the logo would be incomplete without the timeless words “Ise loogun ise” (hardwork is antidote to poverty), which creates a distinct identity for the people, no matter their geographical location.
