Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, his predecessor, Bola Tinubu, as well as several rights activists and groups yesterday marked the fourth year memorial anniversary of the late medical doctor and human rights activist, Beko Ransome-Kuti, in Lagos.

Unveiling a statue of the late rights activist at Anthony Village yesterday, Fashola pledged that Lagos would continue to honour those who stand for justice and truth.

The governor also paid glowing tribute to the Ransome-Kuti family ” for giving so much of itself to the people of Nigeria.”

Also, Tinubu said the late “Beko Ransome-Kuti left his lucrative medical practice to stay on the side of the common man by making the people believe in the Constitution for whatever they intend to do,” adding that the late rights activist “preached the doctrine of a united nation that is consistent with the pursuit of the rule of law and building a nation of which every Nigerian would be proud.”
