EFCC recovers N171bn from bank debtors – Daily Trust

Debtors nailed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for non-performing loans have paid over N171 billion to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Briefing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, EFCC’s Spokesman, Femi Babafemi said the commission has recovered N59.23 billion from Intercontinental Bank’s debtors.

Contrary to expectation, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday met with some bank debtors at a secret location in Lagos.

The meeting, which was billed for the EFCC Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos office, was moved to the secret location following the debtors’ plea, sources told The Nation.

N9b Deposit: Court Issues Contempt Notice On Bank PHB – Daily Independent

A Nigerian firm, Mathan Nigeria Limited, has begun contempt proceedings against Platinum Habib Bank (Bank PHB) over allegation that it tampered with N8.9 billion the company deposited with it.

Consequently, the company has caused a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to issue the bank with a notice of consequence of disobedience of court order (Form 48).
