A former Senator who represented Benue North-West in the National Assembly, Senator Fred Orti and a People’s Democratic Party PDP bigwig in Benue State, Chief Simon Joseph Akure, weekend, escaped death by the whiskers when a boat they were traveling with capsized in the middle of River Katsina-Ala, in Benue State.

The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as petrol yesterday sold for as high as N150 per litre in Makurdi, the Benue State capital as a result of unavailability of the product in most filling stations in the town.

Benue State Police Command yesterday arrested suspected killers of the State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress Comrade Tony Udu and recovered from them two locally made Pistol s in makurdi.
The TUC Boss was shot and killed in his Makurdi residence along Kilometer 3 on Makurdi- Gboko Road penultimate Friday.
